Who We Are

The Hair Group is the UK’s largest group of independent salons. We are responsible for generating haircut and styling promotions in top selling women’s magazines such as Marie Claire, Zest, Glamour, Elle and Company. These promotions are for haircut and style in reputable salons countrywide giving women the opportunity to experience a new salon, and even a brand new look.

The Face of the Hair Group

Every year, we search for a new fresh face to front our prestigious brand using promotions within the media world. This is a unique and exciting competition, with top industry sponsors such as Barry M, Hairflair & Beauty, and Models Plus. It’s also an incredible opportunity for aspiring models to begin a career in modelling. There is a modelling contract with Models Plus to be won and tremendous media exposure for the lucky winner. We have started our search for the 2011 Face of the Hair Group. The Competition

The Face of the Hair Group competition is divided into 4 rounds.

Round 1:

Complete the online registration form and attach a picture.

Round 2:

Representatives from The Hair Group will select the entrants for the competition and you will be notified, if successful, by telephone or email within a month of entering the competition. If successful, entrants will then be invited to visit to the Fresh Academy to have photographs taken and we will select the best head shot and full length photograph which will be used to enter the competition. If applicants have made the top 50 then we will contact them approximately two months before the grand final takes place.

Your visit the Fresh Academy for entry photographs will include a full session at the studio. You should allow 3 hours for a photo-shoot together with professional hairstyling and make-up application. This photographic session can include building a portfolio for you which is paramount in the modelling world. A portfolio is a series of photographs capturing your different looks and image. It is a necessity for all aspiring models and 25% of the final judging, and modelling in general will be based on your portfolio.

Round 3:

Industry expert judges will choose 50 finalists to attend the competition final, held somewhere spectacular in the UK.

Round 4:

At the final, each finalist will present their portfolio for judging and then will battle it out on the catwalk until the winner of the Face of the Hair Group has been chosen.

Terms & Conditions

• Entrants must be aged between 14 and 30 on 1st February 2012
• Entrants must have a minimum dress size 6
• All entrants reaching round 2 will need to visit the Fresh Academy to have their entry photographs taken
• If you are successful in reaching the final 50 you will need to present a portfolio of photographs to the judging panel

Our Face of the Hair Group competition has been running since 2008 and every year we get thousands of entrants.

  2008 Final
  Rebekah Soen
  
  

  Our 2008 final was held at Dolce in London and out of 50 finalists from 11,500 girls, our winner was 16 year old A Level student, Rebekah Soen, of Sutton Coldfield. From the competition she appeared in all the Hair Group promotions for 2008 in various top selling magazines and daily newspapers as well as enjoying modelling assignments through Models Plus.

  2009 Final
  Savannah Ryder
  
  

  The 2009 Face of the Hair Group final was held at Area in Watford, and after beating thousands of entrants, the winner was Savannah Ryder. Savannah still does some exciting modelling in between her studies in beauty therapy.

  2010 Final
  Parris Reid
  
  

  The 2010 final was held at Bed & Area, in Watford. There were 42 contestants competing for the prize. Parris Reid sailed through 3 tough rounds to take the title. Since scooping the fantastic first prize Parris has done various catwalk shows for The Clothes Show and Jason Liddard Hair. Parris also teaches ballroom and latin dance in her spare time as well as competing in other modelling competitions.

Current News

We are currently in the process of working on the exciting 2011 competition, date for final to be announced, which promises to be bigger and better than ever before!  It’s one of our favourite calendar dates and we spend months preparing and building up a great buzz around the competition.  Now is your chance to possibly be the next Face of the Hair Group just by entering and sending in a great up to date photograph of yourself.  If you are lucky enough to be one of our 50 finalists, you should hear from us by the end of July 2012. Our current winner is enjoying herself by being a part of our national promotions, appearing in popular wide-read newspapers and magazines. She is also attending plenty of modelling assignments with her contract through Models Plus and her life has become a whirlwind of photo shoots and modelling jobs.

Our entries are starting to pour in and we’re beginning the process of sorting through all of the beautiful photographs to go through to Round 2.  There’s still time to get your entry in just click on our How to Enter tab and follow the simple instructions. Who knows,  we may see you at the final!
